Chap. Summary: First date shenanigans!
Author's Notes: Who’s shocked that I’d have a crush on Sooyoung’s character? Nobody? Okay, then. Thanks to everybody enjoying this fic!! Anons are welcome, btw. :3
A chilly Friday night. Classes could finally take the back burner. A brightly marked ‘98’ put her German project to bed (Oh ja!!). No time-consuming assignments infesting her email. The perfect evening for Yoona to flop onto a bed, lace her fingers with Jessica’s, and badmouth professors into the wee hours.
No, life didn’t work that easily.
Tonight was the night. The night of their big date. A whopping three weeks after she proposed the idea.
Yoona = petrified.
To make matters worse, she had to deal with this debilitating sense of panic alone. As much as Jo Kwon was dying to help her out, he had an emergency of his own: boyfriend issues. He pledged to live vicariously through her happy times while he sat in his man’s apartment, discussing feelings.
She and Jessica decided to tell only one friend each--so, Jessica’s choice was Sunny, naturally. Yoona never witnessed a straight woman so head-over-ass excited about two girls dating. In her final class of the afternoon, she received a text via Lee Sunkyu, informing her of Jessica’s detainment. Apparently, Sunny confused “first date” with “marriage” and refused for them to see each other until they met at the gallery.
It’d taken Yoona many days and tons of arguing with Jo Jo about the date itself--hence the delay. Jo preferred the traditional “dinner and a movie” scenario to a groaning, disagreeable Yoona. She and Jessica were friends already--wouldn’t it be weird to do the whole cliché romantic plan? Yoona argued for something crazy and destined for hilarious stories. Jo retorted that they’d get hungry. Eventually, they settled on a live show at a hip exhibit across the city followed by a spontaneous meal at a nearby eatery.
Yoona flung her twelfth shirt over her back into the dresser drawer. A special night and she couldn’t find a single wearable top--too baggy, too green, too frilly, too short, too long, too itchy, too plain, too shiny, too dull, too grandma, too childish, too plaid. Yoona stroked her chin, questioning what she normally did when she went low on clothes.
Oh. Right. She’d steal something from Jessica’s collection.
Seemed a little tacky to wear her girlfriend’s clothes on such a special occasion. She settled on the frilly floral-print one. At least it was low-cut.
No worries went into her pants selection. Jessica’s favorite “supermodel” jeans hugged her hips and made the dressing process much more tolerable.
She clipped on a pair of cute ankle boots and scrutinized her choices in the full-length mirror. It’d become impossible to think of this as simply “hanging out with a friend.” She wanted to impress Jessica without coming off tryhard. Putting this to mind, she ruffled her hair, undoing the hour-and-a-half it took to get perfectly in place.
Yoona gingerly spritzed her neck with perfume that she realized belonged to Jessica, loaded up the first purse she touched, and darted out the dorm.
…
The woman cursed to herself as the cab pulled up, giving her a chance to spot Jessica there, already waiting. She swiped her card--accidentally paying a bigger tip than she wanted--and bolted to the marble steps.
“Jessica, hi! I--” Yoona’s words stuck in her throat as she got a better look at her date.
Shiny, voluminous dark hair curled at the ends. Impeccable makeup. A peacoat covered what she could only expect was a dress based on the length of lovely exposed legs shown underneath.
“You’re late,” Jessica stated, appraising her with an amused grin. “Am I overdressed?”
“No, you’re not!” Yoona squeaked louder than necessary. “Amazing would be an understatement. I feel like an ass.”
“Don’t. You’re wearing the jeans I like. Sexy.”
Yoona didn’t know what to do with her arms, so she crossed them. “You-you, too. You’re sexy.”
“Aren’t you cold?”
She patted at her upper half. Her purse was intact, but...the cab peeled off, unknowingly carrying her jacket. “Damnit.”
“Was there anything important in your pockets?”
“No, I...shit.” Embarrassment hurt way more than some chinsy coat her aunt gifted her on Christmas.
Jessica giggled, taking her hand. “Yoona, calm yourself. I’ll keep you warm tonight, kay?”
Her suggestive wink didn’t go unnoticed. Yoona laughed to herself and followed her to the double doors.
…
Choi Sooyoung, a sculpting major from her art history class, never clarified exactly what was in store for the presentation that night. Only, “It’s the making of a beautiful installation--titled, Eataly.” Yoona should have known not to trust someone who mumbled to herself in broken Swahili and chewed on her hoody strings.
Yoona and Jessica sat in the third row of a mass circle of chairs, biting back obnoxious pangs of laughter as Sooyoung and her cohort of artists flung themselves into vats of paint and melted cheese, chanting “I am artisan pizza, artisan pizza am I.” Tartufata sauce flung from prancing team members’ overalls, sharply splattering the shrieking first row.
“Certainly not hungry for Italian after this,” Jessica remarked lowly into Yoona’s ear, tickling her skin.
“Craving anything in particular?”
“Ramen?”
“You always want ramen.”
“Ramen’s always good.”
“No argument here.”
When Sooyoung’s team moved onto the dough-rolling segment, Jessica deemed the environment safe enough to take off her coat. Thank goodness for the earsplitting cry of a stubby guy sporting a mohawk (“Eat me, da Vinci! Eat my soul!") or she would have observed Yoona’s jaw drop to the floor.
She’d never seen that dress. Sinfully tight up top, tapering into a graceful chiffon pleat. Black and intense as Yoona’s pupils.
“God, now they’re baking themselves,” Jessica commented, unaware of her girlfriend’s ovarian meltdown. It gave Yoona a chance to tear her eyes away--one, two, six, twelve times. Perhaps Jessica installed eye magnets into her cleavage.
Yoona folded her program into a fat square, trying her hardest to feign interest in the Parmesan finale. Light fingertips found their way into her hand. One of them absently stroked the V of her pointer and middle finger. She peeked over to her girlfriend who resumed watching the show. Whether the action meant to be comforting or tantalizing, it riled Yoona’s insides all the same.
Soon after, they stood with the rest of the crowd to applaud. Though Sooyoung’s troupe performance elicited more wtf’s than a chatroom, the amount of unbridled merriment painting Jessica’s features reassured her of a successful date.
“Should I tell Sooyoung congratulations?” Yoona asked, wary of her distance to tempting pink lips.
Jessica leaned forward, her wispy voice struggling against chatter and chair-squeaking. “If she can hear you through the pesto in her ears.”
Their heels clicked over to the long lanky girl sprawled on a 10-foot wide ceramic plate, face stoic as a statue. Jessica squeezed at her arm, composing herself. Yoona over-excitedly delivered a thought-out spiel. Sooyoung, dedicated to the setting, refused to speak--though she granted a subtle smirk of gratitude.
To commemorate “one of the best laughs of her life,” Jessica thumbed at her iPhone’s camera app. Her smile grew so big that her eyes closed while Yoona’s toothy grin spread inhumanly wide. One girl’s elated expression thanks to the saucy mess of an installation in the background; the other’s because they took their very first couple photo.
...
Jessica slid Yoona’s left hand into her coat pocket once they stepped outside. “Find me delicious ramen.”
She nodded obediently, appreciating the other hand rubbing her arm while she checked her phone for restaurant ratings. A 4.5-star place was a half block away, so she tugged them into that direction.
“Reviews say they have the best ramen in Korea.”
“If it’s not, I’m blaming you.”
Yoona laughed through her nose, noting the puffs of frozen air swirl forward. Leaving behind a coat seemed stupid before; now she couldn’t be more thankful for an acceptable excuse to hold Jessica close.
…
The glass spoon clinked into Yoona’s empty bowl as she sat back with a sigh. “Damn, that was so good.”
“Was it the best?” Jessica questioned, only halfway finished with her meal. She had always been a slow eater.
“I’d put it in the top three.”
“That’s not the best ever. I blame you.”
Yoona smirked and stole a pot sticker from Jessica’s plate. “What would you rate it?”
“Doesn’t matter. I’m blaming you right now.” She sipped at her ramen, eyes teasing.
“Oh yeah? Is discipline in order?”
“Maybe.”
“You wouldn’t dare.”
“Try me.”
“I dare you to spank me.”
When Jessica sputtered into her spoonful, Yoona’s face caught a fiery blush. She mouthed the crunchy dumpling and chewed slowly. Silence appeared to diffuse the atmosphere. That is, until Jessica uttered a clear, “If you wish,” giving eye contact that would break Yoona all over again.
…
The temperature dropped acutely by the time they stepped outside.
“Yoona,” Jessica cooed, guiding her into a hug. “It’s freezing. You’re going to get sick.”
“No, I won’t,” Yoona replied shakily, regretting her lack of sleeves. “Let’s take a walk.”
Her proposition felt crazy in every sense of the word, but she didn’t want the date to end. The night had been unpredictable, hilarious, flirty...it shouldn’t come to a close due to a few degrees here and there.
“Where to?”
“There’s a neighborhood not too far from here. It’d be fun to poke around.”
“Yoona…” Jessica held onto her pale cheeks, searching her eyes. “For real?”
“Yeah. C’mon.”
The residential area looked like the ones from catalogues with evergreen trees, picket fences, and pastel two-to-three story houses separated by sizeable yards. Through ignoring cringeworthy gusts, she squeezed Jessica’s pocketed hand.
“What made you want to walk through here?” she asked, voice intrigued.
Yoona eyed a golden retriever zip into a huge white-paneled house lit with warm, amber windows. She’d never seen a doggy door in real life--seemed like a concept reserved only for television. "One day, I’ll afford my own picture-perfect house. Like one of these."
“Oh?”
“Did you have a house like this? Back in California?”
Jessica nodded against her shoulder, placing a kiss onto her neck. “Mmhm. Overlooking the Pacific.”
“That sounds nice. I always wanted to live like this.”
“I didn’t know that about you.”
Yoona tugged at her ear, smiling wistfully. “Now you know.”
“Let’s do it.”
She chuckled, ready for the punchline to the joke. Rather than laughter, Jessica stopped in her tracks, anchoring Yoona to the sidewalk. “Wha--?”
“Let’s do it.” Jessica gestured to a quaint blue two-story house. Swinging on a post was a bright red ‘MODEL HOME’ banner under a real estate number. “Says it’s open until 10:30pm.”
“I think it’s empty. Are we allowed inside without a broker?”
“Who cares? It’s almost ten, so we’d better hurry.”
The model home was fully furnished, yet too spotless to be regularly inhabited. Yoona closed the glass-paned door behind her, taking in the new smell. The other girl flicked on a few lights.
“Want to play house?” Jessica giggled, securing her jacket onto a coat rack.
Yoona grinned at her enthusiasm. “What are we, twelve?”
“No. You’re Im Yoona, the homeowner. This is your brand new house where you live with...your….husband?”
“Wife,” she corrected, spotting a wink.
“How modern of you.” Jessica shot a coy glance to the hardwood floor, smirking. “What’s her name?”
Her chest clenched for the first time that night. Yoona straightened her throat daintily, mustering her sweetest voice. “Im Jessica.”
“Great!” Jessica blurted, cheeks rosy. “You’ll be homeowner Im Yoona and I’ll play your beautiful wife, Im Jessica.”
“Who said she was beautiful?”
“With a name like that, she has to be.”
For the next twenty minutes, they toured the interior--
pointing out desired changes (“I’d knock that wall down for a rec room.” “Our master bathroom needs more counter space.”),
décor ideas (“This room would look amazing all-pink” “Can we agree on peach?”),
irresponsible opinions ("A full bar belongs in our bedroom.” “Those smoke detectors are an eyesore.”),
and skirted uncomfortable topics (“Why’s this room so small?” “I think it’s for a child.” “Oh.”).
They ended up in the kitchen, gulping down lemonade. Refreshments for actual buyers.
“See, wasn’t that fun?” Jessica said into her cup.
Yoona smiled wholeheartedly, watching her girlfriend drink. “I haven’t had fun like that since grade school.”
“You’re welcome.”
Jessica clacked across the linoleum tile to pluck Yoona’s crushed cup from her hand. She threw their trash away and reassembled the paltry refrigerator contents.
The real-life vision of Jessica comfortably moving around the room, nosying in untouched cabinets, brought a single number to Yoona’s mind: Six.
It baffled her that she initially freaked over the likes of number four when “Love?” had been scratched onto the paper like nothing. She really could see herself years from now, living in a fine neighborhood. Watching Jessica live out her “sitcom housewife fantasy” or “fancy French museum patron" or anything else she wanted, truly. As long as she had Jessica at her side.
“Oh god,” she gasped, coming to the realization.
She loved her. She loved Jessica.
Jessica looked over her shoulder. Her eyebrows knit with concern. “Yoona, you okay?”
Yoona shook her head, forcing out a giggle. “It’s nothing.”
“Whatever you say, honey,” Jessica purred in an overly giddy voice.
She burst out laughing, adding in, “Okay, sweetheart.”
“Yes, cupcake.”
“Cutiebuns.”
“Dreamboat.”
“Shnooky-face.”
“Sweetpea.”
“Darling.”
“Angel.”
“Gummibärchen.”
“Ma bichette.”
Desire/Intuition/Gravitational pull managed to float Yoona into Jessica’s arms, laying open-mouth kisses to her waiting lips. This date didn’t show her how to find a way into Jessica’s pants; it showed a way into her heart and the cheesiness pained her cloudy head. Their kisses were even hungrier than the welcome back make out. Because this time--on Yoona’s end at the very least--more than lust fueled the passion.
She’d fallen in love with Jessica. And it felt right.
Jessica’s touches no longer burned. They melted. Fingers in Yoona’s hair melted onto her skull, their lips blended together, and the other hand sneaking beneath her frilled shirt could stick there for the rest of her life for all she cared. Comfortable at last to be one.
“Now?” the shorter girl breathed into her lips.
Yoona nodded, flinching only slightly at the fidgety hands materializing at her zipper. Maybe their lips weren’t permanently fixed together since Yoona threw her head back in a mewl as Jessica slid her hand into the front of her pants.
“Mm. So warm.”
“God, Jessica. Please--”
Cautious fingertips pressed more firmly. Yoona swore that her heart stopped at the first head-on jab at her sweet spot. Jessica’s tongue found Yoona’s earlobe and she sucked brazenly, moaning as strokes along the damp material grew frenetic.
Yoona needed something, anything to hold. Her arms circled Jessica’s tiny waist. They made a detour to hook onto her shoulders. Restless and apparently searching for a specific destination, Yoona contemplated tying her limbs into a knot before they snaked between their bodies.
Jessica broke the lip service to her ear. “Yes, touch me there.”
Yoona’s hands felt like they belonged to someone else while they kneaded perky breasts through the pliable fabric. A surreal, yet highly satisfying experience. Jessica resumed her limber fingers’ mission, poking and scratching and pinching all the right places through silk until Yoona practically screamed for the torment to end.
Then, she felt it. A slender digit sliding in, causing her to suck in an unsteady breath just as the front door sounded.
They silenced, exchanging lust-laden, half-confused glances.
Another knock and Jessica slipped out her hand, fleeing from the kitchen light. Remembering their stuff, Yoona snatched the purses and peacoat from the coat rack and hissed to use the patio door. They ran giggling from the backyard. All the way back to the commercial city streets.
“Can you imagine if we were caught?” Jessica breathlessly cackled, bringing Yoona in to wrap her arms into her jacket.
“I’m pretty sure girls getting it on would make them sell a house sooner.”
Jessica shoved her tongue past her lips for a deep kiss, paying no mind to the startled passerbys in the streets. She spoke hotly into her mouth. “It’ll always be our place.”
Yoona shivered--not from the wind--and kissed her back. “We can find something better. One day.”
Her girlfriend’s eyes fluttered open, a curious smile upon her lips. “Yes. One day.”
Without breaking her gaze, Yoona held a long arm to the air, hailing a yellow cab within seconds. Jessica puckered her lips, impressed.
“Enjoy your night?” she asked, as if she didn’t know the answer.
Jessica grinned, pressing on another kiss after she dipped into the car. “The best.”
“Five stars?”
“All the stars, boo.”
“Cuddle bunny.”
“My artisan pizza.”
“Oh, geez. No. Too soon.” Yoona scoffed before she recited their university location to the cabbie.
Though, she couldn’t help but ponder which of the pet names they’d eventually choose.

Date: 2014-02-08 06:03 am (UTC)Can't wait for the last update! I figured the last part would have the ~sexy times~ but I was shocked to see a bit of it in here. Was like "hot damn, getting it earlier than expected" but of course they have to be interrupted...
SO MANY GOOD THINGS COMING OUT NEXT WEEK. Ugh SM the Ballad (has 3 of my biases in it now), BTS, some more albums I'm interested in, and to wrap up the week... part 4! Can't wait. :D

Date: 2014-02-09 07:53 pm (UTC)Laughing and swooning is what this multishot is all about! Glad I'm doing my job well. ^^ Omg I'd nab tickets to Eataly in a second. No joke.
Surpriseeeee~~~ A little somethin' somethin' for the readers before the 14th. ;D
OMGGGG i'm so flattered that I'm included in the "good things" list. Curious~~ Who are your biases in the SM the Ballad lineup?
THANKS FOR READING, BB. ♥♥

Date: 2014-02-09 08:15 pm (UTC)I laugh and swoon at everything you write so yeah you do your job very well! Have you ever seen anything that made you go "wtf" so much that you just started laughing? Like Eataly!
Surprise!? I don't normally like surprises but if it's from you... Yes please. :)
Haha I don't look forward to a lot of things nowadays but I always look forward to anything you write (and your replies to my very rare comments because you're always hilarious and nice at the same time). My biases are Taeyeon, Chen, and Krystal in each of their respective groups so I'm happy to see them together.
YOU'RE WELCOME ! I would include hearts too but I'm on my phone and this is difficult enough as is because of iPhone autocorrects haha.

Date: 2014-02-09 08:29 pm (UTC)OMG YES at the wtf stuff. Pretty much everything in my 20th Century Art class back in college until they explained it and I went, "ohhhhh. Now I get it." There's this video of Andy Warhol simply eating a Burger King burger and I sit there and just...watch it. I do it every now and then and it makes me question my life. xD
Glad I can still surprise people. And look! It doesn't involve a love triangle! haha
I make sure to answer everyone. I appreciate every comment and lol I'm the talky type. :3 Cool cool. I hope the Ballad thing goes well. I (obvs) love Taeyeon. I also enjoy Jonghyun and I used to really dig Yesung. Not a big fan of ballads, tho...
I'll post enough hearts for both of us: ♥♥♥♥♥♥
no subject
Date: 2014-02-10 12:16 am (UTC)I don't understand art at all so I would be one of those douchebags who say it's not art or whatever. Is the video of the burger that interesting?
Ugh I hate love triangles, honestly. It always involves angst and I refuse to read angst. My fragile heart can only read fluff! Don't know if you remember the first comment I left for you but I was literally like... Destroyed when Yoona didn't take Yuri back in WGTG.
I tend to not leave comments on things since I read while I'm at work and don't have the time but if I know someone will reply to me it's more of a motivation to I guess. Especially if they're nice and talkative. Nothing worse than one word answers.
The songs sound interesting so far. Sorta want to hear them all and I'm not a ballad fan either but... My biases!
P.s. Don't comment on LJ using the mobile version of the site. I keep pressing random stuff and it takes me outside of the comment box. Ugh. Phone commenting in general.

Date: 2014-02-13 08:00 pm (UTC)Hahahaha good call. Art can be anything...literally. Um, it's interesting to me at least. I've shown others the video and they seemed underwhelmed. But..IT'S ANDY WARHOL. EATING A BURGER. I believe it's a segment from a film.
I gathered that you weren't a fan of them. Sorryyyyyy. Omg DESTROYED? I'm cackling rn. Checking my notifications after that update was such a gamble.
I'm very happy that you took the time to leave the comments, bb. I'll always reply!! (<I was a little late on this last one, but I've been avoiding leaving comments until PL part four is near completion)) Yay biases!! ps: I've done it a few times, but I'll take your word for it. Thanks. <3

second, please, please, please, tell me that sooyoung's eataly is inspired by real life because holy shit. your sooyoung's are the best.
But argh i still love the dynamic between yoona and jessica and how that was kind of accidentally turned on it's head at the ramen place with yoona's blurted comment and jessica's choking on noodles. and asdfgghjkl the fluff was so fluffy and ~yoona loves jessica and it feels right~ and on valentines day you're gonna post the valensmut and all i good in the world and i can't wait. :)))))) oh and i'm still all AHHHH about the bits of german that make their way in to this hahahaa.

Hehehe glad her realization worked out well. ^^ I love that you point out favorite parts. Helps me...learn about my readers...<_< Thanks, bb. Hope not to disappoint~~
Hehe
Date: 2014-02-13 07:19 am (UTC)Already had mental images of how it'll be but I should have known you're such a tease. :p
And oh! This might sound.. unexpected... but I love the interior conversation bits. As you move from one room to another, the topic does the same, and the readers too. My favourite bit is the child's room.
Holy crap, Jessica's “Yes, touch me there.” ?????? YES. Also, "I dare you to spank me." Enough said.
Re: Hehe
Date: 2014-02-14 06:35 am (UTC)Idk why it never occurred to me that you wouldn't be a fluff fan. :OO Welp, now I'm extra flattered that you take the time to sit and read this fluff!fest. Hahaha awwwwwwwww @ you getting all shy!! That's preshush.
Another accusation of teasing!?!....yeahalittle.
Yaayyy!! The interior tour was one of my favorite parts--like a little montage of vignettes to keep things rollin'.
YES! TOUCHING. AND SPANKING.
Omg what is my life? Thanks for reading, love~~

Date: 2014-02-22 10:22 pm (UTC)That's a very memorable first date, now it's making me brand ramyun.
Have you been to seen performance art before, and was it anything like how you described.
One chapter left, this was very mildly rated.. So I'm presuming the last will be filled with more sexica.
Thanks for the update, and I hope your looking forward to the comeback, hopefully it won't be delayed to much longer.

Date: 2014-02-28 07:46 am (UTC)Mmm I could use some Ramyun rn, too. :Q__
I have seen perf art; nothing like THAT, though. I came up with it and I feel like it should happen irl. Yes, the ~ratedness~ builds up at each chapter then BAM we get part four!! :D
5EVER WAITING ON THE COMEBACK. IT SHALL BE GLORIOUS. I'm bopping to 유로파 (Europa) as I type this. :3 I hope you survived Jessica's teaser vid, btw. Omg.
Thankssss for enjoying, bb.♥♥
